Kindergarten at Oak Hill School
The Oak Hill School Kindergarten is designed to meet the developmental needs of each child. Within the classrooms learning occurs through a hands-on, experienced based curriculum. Kindergartners develop literacy skills by studying letters and sounds, reading simple texts, writing in daily journals, and listening to stories. Math is taught with the use of manipulatives. The students explore a wide variety of themes in science and social studies which are integrated into their daily center activities.
In addition to classroom academics, kindergartners visit the library weekly, and attend art, Bible, computer, Spanish, drama, and music classes. Students stay active with daily recess and physical education classes.
