Learning Services
The Learning Services Department at Oak Hill School is designed to help ALL learners improve and enhance their academic skills, regardless of their ability levels. Every day children of all grade levels come to the Learning Services area to work with Karen Burtch or Maureen Milam on an individual or small group basis. These learning specialists also work with children in their classrooms.
Before the school year begins, Learning Services meets
with each classroom teacher to discuss the learning profiles and needs
of their new students. The learning specialists screen each fifth and sixth grade student in order to provide their teachers
with valuable data on their reading rates and accuracy.
Learning Services provides the classroom teacher and parents the necessary support to improve each student's talents and gifts. In addition to providing in house support and enrichment, the Learning Services Department also coordinates services provided by outside professionals when needed. If you have any questions, contact Maureen Milam, Learning Services Director.
