Physical Education
Every day, Oak Hill School provides physical education for every student, Kindergarten through sixth grade. Developmentally appropriate programs are designed to encourage every child at their own ability level.
Fifth and sixth graders participate in ROPES, Rugged Outdoor Program for the Enlightenment of Students, teaching cooperation and trust as well as physical skills.
Our intent is to provide children of all abilities and interests with a foundation of movement experiences that will eventually lead to active and healthy lifestyles.
PE Team
The PE team consists of four teachers, which allows more individualized instruction for students. In an academic quarter, each homeroom is assigned to a primary teacher for specific units which are taught 3 days a week. The other 2 days are reserved for larger group games and activities, often divided by gender.
The PE team coordinates our Field Day, a special tradition at Oak Hill School with a fun-filled and friendly competition among the Oaks and Acorns. Students are divided into these teams in 3rd grade so the younger students have their separate age-appropriate activities.
