Human Resources Associate

Oak Hill School, a Prek-6, Christian independent located in Nashville, is seeking a full-time HR associate starting July 1, 2023. Onboarding could be earlier depending on the candidate's timeline.

The HR Associate is part of a collaborative team within the Business Office and will be responsible for overseeing and performing a variety of human resources tasks, often focusing on recruitment, hiring, and benefits. They play an active role in the onboarding of new employees, reviewing benefits and other programs, explaining policies, and ensuring all necessary enrollment paperwork is completed properly. They also play a vital role in cultivating a healthy work environment within the school.

The HR Associate reports to the Director of Finance (DOF) and assists the DOF with ensuring compliance with any applicable regulations related to retirement accounts, healthcare plans, and other benefit programs.  They will also be involved in the development, implementation and promotion of a comprehensive employee wellness program throughout the school.

The HR Associate position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and requires occasional evening and weekend participation in school events and functions, both in-person and virtual.





Responsibilities:

  • Onboard all new employees and assist with the completion of required clearance paperwork and assist with separation process for voluntary terminations
  • Manage and coordinate all employee benefit programs including 403(b) Retirement Plan, STD, LTD, Health and Dental, Life/AD&D and COBRA
  • Develop, implement and promote a comprehensive employee wellness program throughout the school
  • Assist DOF with the development of budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program
  • Respond to employees’ questions regarding school policies, payroll, and benefits
  • Manage the annual Open Enrollment process
  • Process monthly and bi-monthly payroll and reconcile for error checking
  • Support the consistent implementation of all applicable personnel policies and procedures
  • Participate fully in the life of the school community, including support for the essential work of the faculty and staff, admissions, business office, and advancement
  • Demonstrate flexibility, adapting to change and remaining open-minded to new ideas
  • Contribute positively to employee morale, while maintaining a positive, pleasant demeanor to all constituencies
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information, records, and conversations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School and DOF
  • Adhere to the guidelines in the Employee Handbook, including punctuality, courtesy, and professional conduct
