Weekly Ticker - April 3, 2016

Week of April 3, 2016

  • The Common Trust Speaker Series event, featuring Dr. Daniel Goleman, world-renowned psychologist and author of The New York Times bestseller, Emotional Intelligence, is TOMORROW, from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Goleman has transformed the way the world educates children and relates to family and friends. During his presentation, Goleman will speak about the elements of emotional intelligence and why it is every bit as important to a child’s learning and development as IQ. Hope to see you there!

  • As a follow-up to Goleman’s presentation, a final Lunch & Learn seminar with Nan Russell, along with OHS guidance counselor Sarah Mathiesen and third-grade teacher Elizabeth Derck, will be held on Thursday, April 7, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.  A complimentary light lunch will be served. Please RSVP to Kate Sullivan, sullivank@oakhillschool.org, if you plan to attend.

  • Tired of going to the recycling center with a trunk full of glass bottles and jars? Then, sign up for Just.Glass! In conjunction with the OHS Service Learning Board, we have partnered with Just.Glass, an organization that employs and empowers people who are working to break the cycle of poverty, to offer a home-based glass recycling program that helps to protect the environment and helps those in need, while giving back to OHS at the same time. For a small monthly fee, Just.Glass will pick up your recyclable glass from your curbside twice per month. By signing up to recycle your glass, you are helping hard-working people make a living.
