Weekly Ticker - April 9, 2017

Week of April 9, 2017

  • Our cherished Grandparents & Special Friends Day is this Thursday, April 13. The PreK-2nd grade program begins at 8:30 a.m., in the Enrichment Center, followed by classroom receptions for ALL GRADES at 9:15 a.m. The 3rd-6th grade program begins at 10:10 a.m., in the Enrichment Center. The Auditorium will open at 7:45 a.m. for grandparents and special friends seating. Students should wear their dress uniforms for this special day. PreK and Kindergarten only students will be dismissed at 10:45 a.m., and all other students will be dismissed at 11 a.m., for Easter weekend.

  • Explorations will be closed on Thursday, April 13, following early dismissal for Easter weekend.

  • We are excited to provide a live stream of the Grandparents and Special Friends Day program! Be sure to check your email Thursday morning for a link to watch the program live. We will also post the link on the school’s social media pages.

  • Please join us in the Enrichment Center for our final Lent service on Wednesday, April 12, at 8 a.m. The theme for the 2017 Lenten Services is “Jesus: Human and Hero.” The fifth grade Lime and Sage cohorts will continue leading us through the powerful story of Christ’s death and resurrection. This service will encourage us to know that we are overcomers through Christ. Mary Cady Bolin, Shantell Hinton and other faculty members will also share personal words of inspiration to help students know that all things are possible with Christ. All students are expected to wear their dress uniforms on this day. If you plan to attend the Lent service, please enter only through the main school entrance at South Porch, not the Auditorium doors.

  • Have you submitted your RSVP for the Spring Fling? You should have received a Paperless Post invitation with all of the details about this wonderful end-of-year parent party. Held at the new venue, Famous Saloon, the event offers the chance to share in a night of fun with other OHS parents, while enjoying great food and a great band. Tickets are $60 per person.
