Weekly Ticker - December 3, 2017
Week of December 3, 2017
NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Our remaining two Advent services will be held on Wednesday, December 6 and 13, both at 8 a.m., in the FPC sanctuary. The service this Wednesday will be led by the sixth-grade Kelly cohort. Please remember that all students are required to wear their dress uniforms for our special Advent services.
- We will announce fifth- and sixth-grade honor and merit roll recipients tomorrow, December 4, at Flag Raising.
- Moms, mark your calendars to attend the next Professional Moms gathering on Tuesday, December 12, at 5:30 p.m., at the home of Laura Perkins, 209 Maybelle Lane. The PMs will label and stamp the OHS Christmas cards, as well as enjoy some festive fellowship. If you would like to attend, please let your grade-level PM representative know or email Laura Perkins, lauraperkins4@gmail.com or Kelli Dill, khdill@nashvillelifestyles.com. All OHS moms are welcome to attend!
- Let’s celebrate the 30th anniversary of OHS Songwriters Night. We are fortunate to have our very own OHS parent Jim Beavers, heading up a talented list of songwriters. Jim will be joined by former OHS parents and Songwriters Hall of Fame members, Wayland Holyfield and Tom Douglas. Their list of acclaimed hits include “Could I Have this Dance,” “Only Here for a Little While,” “Watching Airplanes,” “Red Solo Cup,” “Parachute,” “The House That Built Me,” “I Run to You” and more. Due to the intimate nature of this celebration, a limited number of seats will be available. Online blind bidding will open on Monday, December 11, and conclude on Sunday, December 17. More information will follow this week, including instructions on how to place your bid. No doubt this will be a funny, intimate evening with some of country music’s biggest songwriters playing their classic hits!
The December virtue is GENTLENESS. Our verse this week is from Ephesians 4:2, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
