NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Field Day T-shirts are now on sale! Oaks or Acorns team T-shirts are required for students in 3rd-6th grade. The Field Day T-shirt is optional for students in Kindergarten-2nd grade. To view all T-shirts, please click HERE. The cost of each shirt is $7. If you’d like to order, click on the appropriate order form for your child, Kindergarten-2nd grade T-shirt or 3rd-6th grade T-shirt, and return the completed form with payment to the school office no later than Friday, May 18. - Explorations will be open on Field Day, May 18, to accommodate for early dismissal following Field Day. Registration to attend Explorations on this day is required. The deadline to register is Wednesday, May 16. To register, please click HERE.
- The Parnassus Bookmobile is coming to OHS on Wednesday, May 9. All students will have a scheduled time to shop for books. For more details, please click HERE. If you have questions, email OHS librarian, Stacey Glover, glovers@oakhillschool.org.
- The Service Learning Board is now accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year. Rising third- through sixth-grade students may apply. SLB meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month. Applicants must ask for a teacher recommendation. Please click HERE to download the SLB application. All applications must be received by Monday, May 21. Questions? - Summer reading is required for students in preparation for the 2018-19 school year. Kenny & the Dragon by Tony DiTerlizzi has been selected for the all Lower School summer read, and The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer has been selected for the all Upper School read. Parnassus Books is offering the opportunity to purchase your child’s required summer reading title. To place an order, click HERE to print the order form. Please complete the form and return with payment to your child’s teacher by Monday, May 14. Orders will be delivered, free of charge to OHS on Friday, May 18.
- You’re invited to join us for a retirement celebration in honor of Judy Holland and Barbara Sanders on Tuesday, May 15, 7 a.m. - 8 a.m., in the OHS library. We hope you will attend and help us celebrate two of our beloved teachers and their years of contributions to our cherished school.
- Reminder, please complete your child’s health forms in Magnus, our new online health records system, as we prepare for Under the Oaks Summer Program and the 2018-19 school year. The deadline to complete the online health forms is May 20 if your child will attend Under the Oaks and June 15 for all other returning students. - Come and support our 6th grade boys and girls basketball teams, as they challenge each other in one last game on Tuesday, May 8, at 4 p.m., to support and raise awareness for cul2vate. cul2vate is a non-profit organization that locally grows and donates fresh vegetables to those who live in food deserts, allowing individuals a fresh start with part-time work, job readiness and life-skills training, all with spiritual discipleship at the forefront. Funds raised will assist cul2vate with the purchase of a new fence and gardening supplies. The cost to attend the game is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The game will be held in the OHS gym. Baked goods and drinks will be available for purchase.
- It’s not too late to sign up if you plan to utilize OHS bus service for the 2018-19 school year. Click HERE to sign up now. If you already submitted the form, there is no need to complete it again!
- If your child is interested in participating in fall sports at Oak Hill next school year, please click HERE to complete and submit an electronic interest form. You will be placed on the email list for the selected sports teams in order to receive further information. Go Panthers!
- ‘Tis the season for gift giving! Graduations, Mother’s Day and weddings are all on the horizon. If you shop on Amazon, be sure to link your account to AmazonSmile and help OHS earn easy money.
