NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • We hope you will join us for our Thanksgiving Service this Tuesday, November 21, at 10 a.m., in the FPC sanctuary. Students are required to wear their dress uniforms on this special day. The sanctuary will open at 9:15 a.m. for seating. Students will be dismissed for Thanksgiving Break following the service at 11 a.m.

  • We kindly ask that anyone attending the Thanksgiving Service refrain from taking photographs or videos in order to limit distractions and maintain a sense of reverence during the service. We appreciate your cooperation.

  • Explorations will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Tuesday, November 21, through Friday, November 24. If you require care for your child following the Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, November 21, please make other arrangements to accommodate for early dismissal.

  • Thanksgiving baskets for shut-ins will be prepared tomorrow immediately following Flag Raising. If you have not brought in food items for the baskets, please do so tomorrow. We hope every family will participate.

  • There’s still time to register for the second session of Explorations Mini-Classes. For specific details about each class and the link to register, please click HERE.

  • Author of the New York Times bestselling series Hazardous Tales, Nathan Hale, will visit with students in third through sixth grade on Friday, December 1. He will share his newest book, Raid of No Return. To purchase a signed copy of this book or any of Hale’s other books, please fill out the order form found HERE and return to your child’s teacher with payment by Wednesday, November 29.

  • A Prospective Parents Gathering will be held on Thursday, November 30, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., at the home of Mary and Paul Huddleston. Any current family who is considering OHS for a younger sibling is welcome to attend. Also, we need help from all of our families to serve as ambassadors of our school. If you know any families who may be interested in Oak Hill, please encourage them to also attend!

  • You are invited to attend the inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting and Pancake Supper at First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, December 6. The pancake supper will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. Registration for the pancake supper is needed. For more details and the link to register, please click HERE

  • Sign-ups for sixth-grade basketball tryouts will be available until Friday, November 24. • Thank you to all the dads who attended the Dads’ Breakfast a few weeks ago. Mike Hamilton, our guest speaker and former athletic director at UT, delivered an inspiring message. During Mike’s talk, he shared his personal list of thoughts and reflections that he has collected throughout his past experiences. Many of you asked for a copy of that list.
