Weekly Ticker - November 26, 2017

Week of November 26, 2017

NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Our first Advent service will be held this Wednesday, November 29, at 8 a.m., in the FPC sanctuary. Please remember that all students are required to wear their dress uniforms for our special Advent services.

  • The OHS Professional Moms will meet for a holiday gathering and task on Tuesday, December 12, at 5:30 p.m., at the home of Laura Perkins, 209 Maybelle Lane. The PMs will label and stamp the OHS Christmas cards, as well as enjoy some festive fellowship. If you would like to attend, please let your grade-level PM representative know or email Laura Perkins, lauraperkins4@gmail.com or Kelli Dill, khdill@nashvillelifestyles.com. All OHS moms are welcome to attend!

  • Author of the New York Times bestselling series Hazardous Tales, Nathan Hale, will visit with students in third through sixth grade on Friday, December 1. He will share his newest book, Raid of No Return. To purchase a signed copy of this book or any of Hale’s other books, please fill out the order form found HERE and return to your child’s teacher with payment by Wednesday, November 29.

  • Our Prospective Parents Gathering will be held this Thursday, November 30, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., at the home of Mary and Paul Huddleston. Any current family who is considering OHS for a younger sibling is welcome to attend. Also, we need help from all of our families to serve as ambassadors of our school. If you know any families who may be interested in Oak Hill, please encourage them to also attend!

  • Thank you to our amazing parent volunteers and everyone who helped or donated items for our Thanksgiving baskets. Together, our students assembled 450 baskets that were given to FiftyForward, an organization dedicated to helping older adults live independent and enriched lives. This opportunity to serve others is one way our students share and celebrate the Thanksgiving season.

The November virtue is JOY. Our verse this week is from James 1:2-3, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
