Weekly Ticker - September 3, 2017

Week of September 3, 2017

NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • School will be closed tomorrow, September 4, in observance of Labor Day.

  • The first Professional Moms gathering is this Tuesday, September 5, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., at the home of Laura Perkins (209 Maybelle Lane). Feel free to drop in when you can and stay as long as you are able. Snacks and drinks will be provided. The PMs will tag all of the 1961 Consignment donated clothing items, as well as tear sheets to be used at Bandage Bay during Round Up. If you have any old white sheets, please bring to the gathering. For more details or directions, please email Kelli Dill at khdill@nashvillelifestyles.com or Laura Perkins at lauraperkins4@gmail.com.

  • Don’t forget, students can begin wearing their eclipse/Round Up T-shirt this Friday, September 8. Please remember that T-shirts must be worn with dress code bottoms. Students can wear their T-shirt every Friday leading up to Round Up on September 29.

  • The Moms in Prayer Kick-Off Brunch is this Thursday, September 7, at 9:30 a.m., in the FPC Gathering Place. We are thrilled to have Angela Thomas Pharr as our guest speaker. Please enter through the main school entrance at South Porch and check in before proceeding to the
Gathering Place for the event. To RSVP, please reply to the electronic invitation that was emailed to you. We look forward to seeing you and sharing this morning with you!

  • The OHS Fall/Winter Consignment Sale is only two weeks away! We are still in need of many volunteers. Click HERE to see available shifts and to sign up. The Consignment Sale is not possible without the support of our incredible volunteers!

  • Look for the first grade-level bulletin to be available Saturday, September 23, for PreK and Kindergarten parents, and Saturday, October 7, for parents of children in first through sixth grade. Teachers in each grade level prepare a bulletin with information about grade-specific events, calendar items and academic summaries to ensure you are aware of the focus of your child’s study and activities. A new bulletin is available on the Parent Portal the first Saturday of every month for grades first through sixth and bi-monthly for PreK and Kindergarten.

  • We extended the deadline for one more week to sign up for first session of Explorations mini-classes. Click HERE to view class offerings, schedule and to register.

  • An informational meeting for any boys interested in learning about Cub Scouts will be held on Tuesday, September 12, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., at the Scout House, located on the north side of the school. The second and third grade Cub Scout dens will provide a potluck dinner and talk about their experiences in Scouts. Please contact Chuck Pierce, Cubmaster and father of a third-grade Cub Scout, at (615) 477-6966 or chuck@pierce.sh for more details.
