The following postions are currently available:

5th Grade Science Teacher and Advisor - The school seeks a creative and collaborative teacher for fifth-grade science and the fifth-grade advising team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific responsibilities of the position include teaching science, serve as advisor to a small cluster of fifth-grade students, supervise and provide learning support for advisees, help students during study hall, collaborate on grade-level and subject-matter teams, participate in class outings and overnights, and design and teach innovative lessons that differentiate for a variety of  learning styles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications include at least a bachelor’s degree in science or a closely related field as well as elementary or middle-school teaching experience. Experience in curriculum development and revision are also required.

Art Teacher - The school seeks a part-time art teacher to work with students in grades PreK - 6 beginning July 2021. This faculty member will join a nurturing, Christian community committed to the School’s mission and vision for building a diverse and inclusive environment where all children learn, grow, and thrive.

DESIRED QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates a passion for working with children ages 5 - 12
  • A commitment to student-centered learning and a solid understanding of pedagogical approaches aimed at deep and differentiated learning
  • Has the knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history
  • Provides instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations
  • An ability to collaborate with the upper school art teacher to develop in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (preferred)
  • Master’s Degree in Education (preferred)
  • Prior teaching experience (preferred)

Drama Teacher - The school seeks a full time drama teacher to work with students in grades PreK - 6 beginning July 2021. This faculty member will join a nurturing, Christian community committed to the School’s mission and vision for building a diverse and inclusive environment where all children learn, grow, and thrive.

  • Demonstrate a love of working with children.
  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm for relationship building with students and colleagues
  • A commitment to student centered learning and a solid understanding of pedagogical approaches aimed at deep and differentiated learning
  • Knowledgeable about the skills for public speaking, dramatic and musical performances, and creative expression
  • An ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to develop in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression.
  • Utilizes the repertoire of all types of performance styles that are appropriate for the age of the student
  • Understands the process of dramatic expression is equal to the product
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (required)
  • Master’s Degree in Education or Performing Arts
  • Prior teaching experiences with children ages 5 - 12 (preferred)
  • Ideal candidates are creative individuals who are not only experienced actors, but know the lighting, costuming, music and production requirements for putting on a play

Spanish Teacher - The school seeks a creative and collaborative Spanish teacher to work with students in grades PreK - 6 beginning July 2021. DESIRED QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passion for working with the elementary age child
  • Ability to excite the students to the joys and beauties of language learning
  • A commitment to student-centered learning and a solid understanding of pedagogical approaches
  • Exhibit knowledge and skills of the language to effectively teach the varying developmental levels of the preK - 6th grade student
  • Help students understand the language, so that they are able to communicate orally and have an aural comprehension
  • An ability to work collaboratively with a positive spirit and sense of humor
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Spanish, OR if native speaker, a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Education
  • Spanish teaching experience in the preK - 6 level is preferred

Director of Diversity and Inclusion - The school seeks a Director of Diversity and Inclusion to assume the role in July 2021. The Director will work with the administration, faculty, and students to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion are integrated throughout every aspect of the community and curriculum. In alignment with the school’s mission, the Director will plan and execute on new and existing organizational-wide DEI initiatives, professional development sessions, policies, and systems to foster inclusivity, diversity, and equity across campus. As a member of the administrative team, the Director must be passionate about DEI work and be a strategic leader who will work to strengthen and build holistic DEI strategy for Oak Hill.

• Experience in curricular instruction or administration.
• Demonstrated experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion work within a school community.
• A strong desire to work in a PK-6 environment.

• A demonstrated knack for bringing diverse thought communities together.
• A proven track record of communicating the value proposition of DEI work to an array of community constituents (board,
employees, students, families, alumni, etc.)

After-School Care Providers - Explorations, the after-school program at Oak Hill School, seeks responsible individuals to serve as after-school care providers, working with children, ages 4-12, in a structured and fun environment. The positions offer an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working with elementary-aged children. A background in education is preferred, but not required.

Substitute Teacher - We are currently seeking talented candidates to substitute teach in all grades and classes. A college degree is required. Experience working with children or education is preferred. Please complete the online application for consideration.

Substitute Bus Driver - We are currently seeking substitute bus drivers for morning and afternoon routes and for field trips. The requirements include 3-5 years experience, Class B CDL with P & S endorsements, history of unrestricted driving record, current DOT medical card.
