Oak Hill students and faculty are charged to participate in God’s work by caring for others and the world around them. It is part of our mission and what we do—prepare and develop hearts for a lifetime of learning and service.
Service learning is woven into the curriculum at all grade levels, beginning in PreK. Each grade level has a defined service theme and participates in various projects throughout the year. These projects, along with Hearts of Service Day—a school-wide day of service in February—are part of a deliberate process through which students develop skills, knowledge and civic awareness while making meaningful contributions to their communities.
Beginning in 4th grade, all students participate in SALT (Serving and Leading Together) classes. The vision for SALT classes is to create self awareness of personal leadership strengths, while learning to recognize the strengths of others when serving and leading.
